Cas is a magician. She has a strong intuition for how and why humans learn, and reflects incisively and wisely about the role of play in our psyches and societies. Even more powerful is watching her craft speak for itself, as I had the chance to do during The Performance Theatre’s 2022 program on “Our Shared Spaces”, where she facilitated a group of leaders from around the world through a workshop on play. CEOs and artists alike emerged from the experience not only with huge smiles but with insights that they were able to connect to practical aspects of their work.

DESIGN SERVICES

Play Space, Playground, Exhibit Design

Cas creates a custom design based on existing site conditions or new construction. Design work can begin with a design brief, or Cas can craft the design brief in collaboration with client and team. Scope may vary but typically includes concept through construction drawings and fabrication documents.

New Product Design

Cas designs a custom product for production by the client or partners. The process might include client-requested research, product conception, ideation, precedent and market studies, design development and prototype testing with humans, and the development of manufacturing documents.

CONSULTING SERVICES

Coaching, Strategic Consulting

Cas will provide her perspective, advice, and feedback on a topic or challenge in question in a one-on-one session. Executives’ challenges might include: getting leadership teams on board with prioritizing play or childhood as a market sector, teaching teams how to think outside the box, get “unstuck,” and to creatively jump-start a project, and reminding teams to think from a play or child’s perspective to find solutions.

Design Team Coaching, Guest Critic

In single or multiple pin-up sessions, Cas will review ideation, design development, or design proposals and provide coaching and feedback to a design team on a topic in question.
